The plaza and atrium space will provide a welcoming gateway and landmark at the southwest corner of Bloor & Dufferin. The plaza will be designed as an extension of the sidewalk to provide ample room for pedestrians and act as a meeting place for people in the community.

Extending from Bloor Street to Croatia Street, this new street will serve as the grand promenade of the community while adding a new mid-block connection. This multi-faceted shared space will be the heart of this new urban quarter – a truly unique addition to the Toronto urban scene. This street is envisioned as a pedestrian-focused space that will be supported by special destination retailers and restaurants whose patios will spill onto the boulevard.

The inspiration for the Artist Commons came from meeting with community members that took place early in the planning process. The Artist Commons is a potential series of artists’ spaces within the laneways that the community can inherit and continue to curate for generations to come.

Historic Kent School

We plan to celebrate the unique heritage of this site by restoring and re-purposing this community asset. The newly restored building could support a variety of uses, including a community hub, incubators, office space or residential lofts. Enhanced landscaping along Dufferin Street will help support any future uses of the Kent School.
